How to set up voting and vote rewards
Let players vote for your server with /vote, give them a reward for it, and climb the server list.
Players can vote for your server once a day. Votes move it up the server list, and you can
give voters a reward in game, like diamonds, XP or money. Voting works on Paper and Spigot servers: a
small plugin that adds /vote is installed for you.
Set it up
- Open your server's panel and go to the Players tab.
- Switch on your Public page (votes only move you up the list once it's public).
- In Votes & rewards, make sure Players can vote is ticked.
- Choose a reward from + Add a reward, or pick Your own command and type any command, the same way you
would in game. Use
{player}where the voter's name goes, for example/give {player} diamond 3or/eco give {player} 250. You can add several. - Press Save. If
/votedoesn't work in game yet, restart the server once. - Join the server, type your name under Try it on yourself and press Give me the rewards to check what voters get.
How players vote
- They type
/vote(or/bump) on your server. - They click the link in chat, which opens their personal vote page.
- They press Vote while still on the server, and the reward arrives in game straight away. If they log off first, it's given the next time they join.
The rules
- One vote per Minecraft account per server every 24 hours, and one per home network a day.
- The voter has to be on your server when they vote, and their link only works for 10 minutes.
- Servers in offline mode (
online-mode=false) still give rewards, but their votes don't count for the server list, because anyone can pretend to be anyone there. - Rewards must be free. Selling votes, or anything that gets you more votes for money, isn't allowed.
